‘They Come To Party’: Vacation Rentals Cause Problems At Downtown San Diego High-Rise

In San Diego’s East Village, six blocks from Petco Park, two towers — one red, one yellow — represent the tallest residential buildings in the city. At 45 stories, the luxury high-rise apartments stand side by side and feature picturesque views of Coronado, the downtown skyline and the mountains of East County.

But the yellow tower, named Pinnacle on the Park, is known as the party building, where stir-crazy revelers have gone to blow off steam after stay at home orders relaxed in May.

Pogacar, who celebrates his 22nd birthday on Monday, is the youngest winner since 1904, sealing his triumph with a sensational performance in the mountain time trial on the penultimate stage.

Until then it had looked as if his compatriot and long-time leader Primoz Roglic would claim the yellow jersey, but in a remarkable reversal it was Pogacar who won the stage and took the race lead by 59 seconds.

Tennessee voting rights law: Governor signs bill penalizing some protesters with felony and loss of voting rights

Bill HB 8005 increases the punishment for camping on state property from a misdemeanor to a class E felony that is punishable by up to six years in prison.
Signing of the bill comes as protesters have been camping outside the Tennessee Capitol in Nashville, demanding a meeting with the Republican governor to discuss racial inequality and police brutality since June, according to the Washington Post. Protesters are also asking for the removal of a Nathan Bedford Forrest bust at the State Capitol. Forrest was a slave trader and early Ku Klux Klan leader.

ECOWAS Court set to resume from extended vacation on Oct. 7

The ECOWAS Court will be resuming its activities on Oct. 7, after its three months vacation.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the media office of the justices.

The court will deliver judgment in nine cases filed against eight some member states.

It added that the cases were also filed against Nigeria’s Cross River State and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) and listed in the latest course list released by the Registry of the Court for the period Sept. 25 to Oct. 28.
