Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao’s native village to be turned into tourism spot

Telangana is planning to construct a memorial tourism site at former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s village exhibiting his life and struggles. Rao’s native village is Vangara in Warangal. 

State tourism minister V Srinivas Goud visited Vangara and revealed the plan for the development of the village as a tourism spot. He said, “The village would be recognised globally to mark the centenary celebrations of late Narasimha Rao.”

To continue educating and inspiring the country and its younger generations of  Rao’s personality, the building where he lived will be developed into a museum which will have a photo gallery exhibiting

Tourism industry looks for help from state

Apr. 9—BOSTON — The tourism industry is pushing lawmakers for more help for hotels, attractions and other hospitality businesses that have been hammered by the pandemic.

On Friday, regional tourism officials told a legislative panel they need more marketing funds and other support to attract more visitors as the state reopens.

Ann Marie Casey, executive director of the North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, said travel tourism is down more than 50% from normal levels in Massachusetts, which is a much bigger loss than the national average.

WENATCHEE — The clock is ticking for those looking to book a stay at a state park this year: reservations are up and officials expect busy summer akin to 2020.

“We like to advise people to try to plan ahead and book early,” said state Parks and Recreation Commission spokeswoman Toni Droscher in an email Wednesday. “The reality is, camping at state parks is gaining in popularity, and we only have a finite amount of spaces.
