Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 18) — The Tourism Department has launched an online platform listing local destinations that are now accepting visitors amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The website contains a list of the Philippines’ regions and provinces, detailing the tourist spots that are already open in their respective areas.
Also indicated in the platform are the health protocols and tourist requirements visitors can expect at each site, as well as certified accommodation establishments around the country.
Authorities earlier approved the reopening of renowned tourist destinations, Boracay and Baguio to more local tourists, in line with the government’s plan to slowly revive the tourism and travel industry amid the current health crisis.
Meanwhile, Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat confirmed that the province of Ilocos Sur will be open to Luzon residents on November 15, “once all systems and health and safety measures are in place.”
