International vacation homes? Only in US travelers’ dreams

Four months into a virtual worldwide lockdown for US travelers, reaching a vacation home abroad is either impossible or too risky to even consider — leaving these homeowners challenged and their homes largely abandoned.

Dream houses in far-flung regions are still extant, leaving homeowners to navigate upkeep and associated costs from afar instead of checking in — and enjoying — in person.

What was once predictable, annual travel for these owners has now been entirely upended. Is the solution to sell? Perhaps rent it out?

Or, most risky during this uncertain period, try and travel there anyway?

Five PGA Tour players withdraw from Travelers Championship in caution over virus

Brooks Koepka and Webb Simpson were among five players who withdrew from the Travelers Championship, four of them out of a chain-reaction abundance of caution over the coronavirus that put the PGA Tour on notice.

“The snowball is getting a little bit bigger,” Graeme McDowell told The Associated Press after withdrawing Wednesday because his longtime caddie, Ken Comboy, tested positive for the virus.

The tour released results that showed three positive tests at the TPC River Highlands in Connecticut — Cameron Champ and the caddies for Koepka and McDowell. There were no positive tests on the Korn Ferry Tour event

We have been working since March to develop a comprehensive health and safety plan that would be considered a best practice among professional sports leagues. While we have been thorough in building and implementing a program that mitigates as much risk as possible, we knew it would be impossible to eliminate all risk – as evidenced by the three positive tests this week.  

We need to use these developments as a stark reminder for everyone involved as we continue to learn from an operational standpoint; we are making several adjustments to our health and safety plan, as
