It certainly hasn’t been a typical year in the world of camping, with travel plans disrupted and many trips and visits put on hold.
Nevertheless, the team here at Camping magazine and Out&AboutLive has continued to keep you up to date with tent reviews, how-to advice, the latest news and much more over the past 12 months. We hope we’ve kept you informed and entertained during the tougher times.
Camping during the lockdown
Here’s an article we could never have expected to write this time last year – and it’s the most read item of content in 2020. Published in April, during the first national lockdown, it looked at the ways people were still able to get their camping fix, without leaving their homes.

In this most turbulent of years, this was a valuable resource, providing information on travel around the UK and Europe. Updated throughout the year as official advice changed, it included details on campsites, quarantine rules and ferry sailings.
Six of the best Cornwall beaches
Even if restrictions meant we were limited in where we could go camping, it didn’t stop you enjoying some of the travel content we provided. Cornwall is one of the most popular regions in the UK for camping holidays, with its beaches a major attraction.

Camping inspiration: Anglesey
Travel content carries year-round appeal, and this article provided a guide to the romantic and magical area of Anglesey and the north Wales coast. With recommendations on where to stay and where to visit, it’s a great piece to come back to once we can, hopefully, travel more freely again.
